Big Truck Accidents on Interstates

Big Truck Accidents on Interstates

When you travel across the country on the interstate highway system, you are obliged to share the road with all manner of vehicles, including large big rig trucks transporting goods across the country. These big rigs, moving at a high rate of speed can be intimidating to other drivers in normal-sized vehicles. Big truck accidents on the interstate inflict more damage on other vehicles involved than they sustain themselves. Truck accident attorneys – personal injuryaccident law

The big 18-wheelers weigh in excess of 26,000 pounds empty. On top of the vehicles 13 tons, you have to add the weight of the cargo they are carrying too. The distances and hours put a lot of wear and tear on those vehicles. Most big trucks have about seven years of hard-driving on their chassis. Poorly maintained vehicles can also lead to big truck accidents on interstates.
The size and weight of heavily laden cargo trucks put passenger cars at a great disadvantage in the event of a trucking accident. Although big truck accidents on interstates have decreased, there were almost 5,000 fatal truck accidents nationwide every year. Approximately 76 percent of the victims of fatal big truck accidents were passengers of other vehicles. When a big truck accident occurs, it is much safer to be in the truck than in a car.

Trucking companies place tight deadlines on their drivers and may indirectly cause accidents with these unrealistic demands. Long hours in a truck will often lead to fatigue and decreased reaction times. In order to meet their deadline, many drivers resort to speeding, drugs, and other unsafe behavior. They become careless when securing their loads and frequently drive aggressively. All these are leading factors in big truck accidents on interstates across the country.

Inexperienced drivers are another problem on interstate highways. Truck driving appeals to many young men and trucking companies are desperate to get them driving early. In many cases, important safety training is foregone in order to get young drivers on the road quickly. This puts more inexperienced big rig truckers on the road with you and me, putting us in danger.

Seldom are big truck accidents on the interstate small affairs. Every winter there are multi-car pile-ups due to ice or fog. With all the big rigs hauling goods across the country, there are typically several involved in multi-vehicle crashes. Unfortunately, smaller passenger cars do not stand a chance when a big rig crashes into them. Some of the most frightening scenarios are when accidents involve trucks hauling gasoline or other flammable material.18 wheeler accident lawyerstruck accident lawyers

It is important to drive defensively around big rigs since they often have the advantage of size and weight over passenger vehicles. Because of the large size of these vehicles, very few truck accidents are considered minor. Truckers involved in big truck accidents on interstates typically have a company lawyer going to bat for them.

The deep pockets of the largest trucking companies will do everything in their power not to pay on a claim for an accident caused by one of their drivers

A visit to the plumbing aisle of your local home center will show you that do-it-yourself plumbing repair has never been easier. There you will find plumbing kits, including illustrated instructions, for just about every common plumbing repair project. Plumbing is not dangerous unless you’re dealing with gas pipes. In fact, call a licensed plumbing professional if your repair or installation involves any change to existing gas plumbing piping. But plumbing mistakes can be damaging to the finishes and contents of your home, just by getting them wet. The force and weight of water are also something to be reckoned with if many gallons flow where they should not. Before starting a plumbing project involving the plumbing supply system, locate the shut-off valve for the plumbing fixture you’re working on. If you can’t find one, shut off the main valve is where the plumbing supply enters the house.

How Plumbing Works

A tile plumbing supply system is the network of pipes that delivers hot and cold potable water under pressure throughout your house plumbing.
1. Water enters underground from the street through a 3/4″ or 1″ metal pipe. In houses built prior to 1950, the metal is usually plumbing galvanized steel after 1950, plumbing copper. In the case of private water supply, the plumbing pipe is usually polyethylene.
2. If you pay for water and sewage, your home’s usage is measured and recorded as tile water passes through a water meter. If you find no meter inside the house, one is probably located in a pit between the house and the street. You can monitor your consumption, measured in cubic feet, by lifting the cap and reading the meter.
3. Next to the water meter (before, after, or both), you will find a valve, which allows shutting off the water supply, both cold and hot, to the entire house. If you have never noted this plumbing valve, do so now. When a plumbing pipe or fixture springs a leak, you don’t want to waste time searching for it.
4. Plumbing supply pipes—both cold and hot—that serve many plumbing fixtures are called “trunk lines,” and are usually 3/4″ in diameter. Pipes serving hose and other plumbing fixtures with high demands maybe 3/4″ as well.
5. Plumbing pipes serving only one or two fixtures are called “branch lines.” Because they carry less water, they are often reduced in size to 1/2″ and, in the case of toilets, 3/8″. Exceptions are pipes serving both a shower and another fixture.
6. Every plumbing fixture should have shutoff valves on both hot and cold incoming supplies. This is so that repairing the single plumbing fixture doesn’t require shutting off the entire house supply at the meter valve.

Can A Retainer Fix Your Crooked Teeth

Retainers are a necessity for those who dream to have the perfect smile! Face is the mirror of our heart, we all love to smile and perfect smile is genuinely adorable to all. However, all of us are not so lucky to be blessed with the perfect teeth worth flaunting. I belong to the group of those people who don’t have the perfect teeth but really dream to have them. I am a bit self obsessed and want to look perfectly beautiful all the time. I often look at myself in the mirror and wish to have the perfect milky white teeth which could complement my facial beauty. Fortunately, a few years back I got to know about the use of retainer for teeth which could help me get the lovely smile that I had always dreamt of having.

braces - retainers

What is a retainer for teeth?

Retainer for teeth include a wide range of custom made devices which are generally suggested by oral and dental professionals used to enhance the beauty of teeth setting. These devices are usually made of clear plastic or wires which align the teeth straight together in position. These retainers are basically of two types

Removable Retainers – these can be taken out by us while brushing daily.

Non Removable Retainers – also known as bonded or fixed retainers. These cannot be taken out by us and we would need dentists or oral experts to take it out.

Nowadays, people mostly use removable retainers because regular cleaning is an issue with the non removable retainers.

Why did I choose retainer for teeth?

We all wish to flaunt that perfect smile which can steal hearts and retainers are such devices which can help our dream come true.

Well, I had an option to go for braces but I did not prefer that because it might make me look quite ugly and funny. I was afraid that with braces attached to my teeth, I might have to stop going to my college else stop smiling until my braces were removed.

So, I chose to go for removable retainer, which according to my orthodontist suited me the best.

I must say that it’s hassle free, easy to use and did not make me look ugly.

Therefore, I think removable retainers are a must for people who want to straighten their misaligned teeth, without wearing those ugly metal braces.

Children - Teens as Dental patients

Disadvantages of removable retainers.

Removable retainers are not as effective as the permanent ones and took quite a long time to give me that well set teeth which I wanted.

Not suitable for kids as they may start taking it off and lose it or keep playing with it and in due course of time might break it too.
